What you receive
- 1 x 5L HVS Liquid Gold Sheep

The free drench gun is only included with this promotional listing and with the 2 x 2.5L twin pack offer. The standard HVS Liquid Gold Sheep listing does not include a gun.
What is Liquid Gold Sheep?
It is a liquid trace element and vitamin supplement made for HVS Animal Health in Co. Down. The trace minerals are organically chelated, so each one is bonded to an amino acid for easier uptake. It is a complementary feed for sheep and not a veterinary medicine, so no prescription is needed.
How far does Liquid Gold Sheep 5L go?
The 5 litre container suits larger flocks, because one pack covers a whole handling session. Based on the manufacturer’s dose rates:
- Ewes at 20 ml: 250 doses.
- Rams at 25 ml: 200 doses.
- Lambs at 10 ml: 500 doses.
Always check the pack label before dosing, because the label is the final guide.
When is it used?
HVS recommends drenching ewes three weeks before tupping and again four to six weeks before lambing. Rams are dosed six weeks before tupping. Lambs are dosed at one month old (5 ml) and at three months old (10 ml). After that, dosing can be repeated every three to six months as required.
Why choose the 5L pack with a free gun?
A single 5 litre container means fewer changeovers when you are working through a big group. Moreover, the free drench gun means you have what you need to start dosing as soon as the order arrives. If you would rather split the same volume across two sites or two groups, the twin pack may suit you better.
