Why Farm Vet Services can’t post orders outside the UK

Farm Vet Services is a UK veterinary practice and we can only supply and dispatch products in line with UK veterinary medicines and distribution rules. Because of this, we do not post orders outside the UK.

Veterinary medicines are tightly regulated

Many items sold by a veterinary practice (including prescription medicines) are classed as UK regulated veterinary medicinal products. These products must be supplied under specific rules and controls, including where they can be supplied to, how they’re stored, and who they’re supplied by. Shipping medicines internationally adds different legal requirements and import rules in the destination country, which we cannot meet through our UK-based supply service.

Prescription items must be supplied under UK rules

For prescription-only veterinary medicines, supply must follow the legal requirements around prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping. In many cases, a valid prescription and appropriate UK supply checks are required. Posting these items outside the UK would involve cross-border rules and approvals that vary by country and are not something we can support.

Customs and import controls can stop or delay parcels

International parcels containing animal health products and medicines can be held, delayed, or rejected by customs. Some countries prohibit certain medicines entirely, require import licences, or demand documentation that differs from UK requirements. To avoid parcels being seized, delayed, or returned, we only dispatch within the UK.

Product licensing can differ country-to-country

Even if a product looks the same, it may be licensed, labelled, or approved differently in other countries. What can be supplied legally within the UK may not be permitted elsewhere without a local authorisation.

Cold chain and safe transit can’t be guaranteed internationally

Some veterinary products require strict handling (for example temperature control and secure carriage). International transit times and customs delays can make it impossible to guarantee the product remains in the correct condition during delivery.


What this means for customers outside the UK
  • Our website does not accept orders for delivery addresses outside the UK.

  • If you are outside the UK, you will need to source the product through a local veterinary practice/pharmacy that can supply it legally in your country.
