What is Equest Pramox?
Broad-spectrum equine wormer combining moxidectin and praziquantel to target nematodes & cestodes (incl. encysted cyathostomin larvae) and bots. Effective against adult and intraluminal larval stages of small redworm, large strongyles, pinworm, ascarids, hairworm, stomach worm, lungworm and tapeworm (Anoplocephala spp.). Egg-reappearance period ≈ 90 days.

Dose & Administration
Dose rate: 0.4 mg/kg moxidectin + 2.5 mg/kg praziquantel by mouth.
Coverage: 1 × 14.4 g syringe treats a 700 kg horse; set dial to bodyweight in 25 kg steps and deliver over the tongue.
Stewardship & Timing
Base treatments on FECs and risk; avoid frequent repeat use of the same class and never under-dose. For bots, treat in autumn; for encysted cyathostomins + tapeworm, target late autumn/winter per vet advice.
Safety, Contra-indications & Withdrawals
Do not use in foals < 6.5 months.
Keep dogs/cats away from spilled gel/used syringes (moxidectin toxicity).
Withdrawal: Meat/offal 64 days; not authorised for animals producing milk for human consumption.
Environmental care: keep treated horses away from watercourses for 1 week and off pasture for 3 days to reduce impact on dung fauna/aquatic life.
