Product Description
A 7-day progesterone device for cows and heifers
What it does — in brief
-
Delivers 1.55 g progesterone over seven days.
-
Brings cows and heifers into heat together, so you can plan fixed-time AI or embryo transfer.
-
Works in both cycling and non-cycling animals.
-
Requires no milk or meat withdrawal.
How to use it — step by step
-
First, disinfect the applicator, fold the device, and load it (tail exposed).
-
Next, add a small amount of lubricant and insert the applicator: vertical at first, then horizontal until you meet gentle resistance.
-
Then, press the handle to release the device and withdraw the applicator, leaving the tail visible.
-
After seven days, pull the tail to remove the device. If you cannot see the tail, locate it carefully with a gloved hand.
-
Finally, inseminate as the protocol below directs.
Main protocols
Situation | Hormones to add | When to inseminate |
---|---|---|
Cycling cattle | PGF₂α 24 h before removal | Observe heat; AI within 12 h or use fixed-time AI 56 h after removal |
Cycling & non-cycling | GnRH at insertion → PGF₂α 24 h before removal → (option A) AI 56 h after removal or (option B) GnRH 36 h after removal → AI 16–20 h later | As shown |
Non-cycling | PGF₂α 24 h before removal + eCG at removal | Fixed-time AI 56 h after removal |
Your vet chooses the exact plan for your herd.
