Vetfuzion Restore 400 g – Fast Rehydration & Electrolytes

What is Vetfuzion Restore?

Vetfuzion™ Restore is a white, fully soluble oral rehydration powder formulated for adult ruminants and equines. One 400 g sachet mixed into 20 L of warm water produces an isotonic drench that rapidly corrects electrolyte deficits while the dextrose load boosts energy and palatability.

Why choose Vetfuzion Restore?
  • Complete electrolyte profile — sodium chloride restores extracellular fluid; potassium chloride reverses hypokalaemia that paralyses rumen muscles; low-level calcium and magnesium keep plasma cations in range.

  • 175 g dextrose (≈ 44 % w/w) gives cows an immediate energy kick and encourages them to drink an extra 20-40 L on their own.

  • Fast, grit-free mixing — the fine powder dissolves in under a minute and runs freely through Vetfuzion or Selekt pumps without blocking nozzles.

  • Flexible dosing ladder — label allows one extra sachet (40 L total) for moderate dehydration and two extra (60 L) for severe cases.

  • Multi-species licence — safe for cows, ewes, goats and horses when used under veterinary guidance.

How it works
  1. Sodium & chloride ions pull water back into the vascular system, restoring blood volume.

  2. Potassium moves into cells, normalising neuromuscular function and rumen contractions.

  3. Calcium & magnesium stabilise muscle tone and enzyme activity, supporting recovery after calving or surgery.

  4. Dextrose fuels sodium-glucose co-transport in the gut for faster water uptake and doubles as a mild ketosis preventative.

Administer via drench gun or Vetfuzion cattle pump directly into the rumen. Use 38 °C water to avoid chilling stressed animals.

Protocol tip: After restoring fluid volume, follow with Vetfuzion Off Feed or Antacid if appetite is still low or rumen pH is < 6.0.

Ideal Use-Cases
  • Fresh-calved cows with low rumen fill

  • Post-surgical recovery (LDA, C-section)

  • Transport or heat-stress dehydration

  • Supportive therapy for mastitis, metritis or downer cows

Safety & Storage

Complementary feed; zero meat or milk withdrawal. Keep sachets tightly sealed, cool and dry. Mix immediately before use to prevent caking.

FAQs

Can I mix Restore with Vetfuzion Antacid?
Yes — but dose the antacid first to correct pH, then Restore 3–4 h later for fluids and electrolytes.

Cold water OK?
Cold solutions slow gut uptake and can chill a sick cow. Always use hand-hot water (~38 °C).

Sheep dose?
Use 75 g per 40 kg live-weight in 5 L warm water via stomach-tube.
